About

Pearl Ministries partners with individuals, families and churches to help orphans and vulnerable children in Uganda, the Pearl of Africa, through gospel-centered, holistic development of family and community in partnership with indigenous ministries and churches.

Jesus said, “The kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls, who, in finding one pearl of great value, went and sold all that he had a bought it.” Matt. 13:45-46

Winston Churchill described Uganda as the “pearl of Africa.”  With it’s lush landscapes and natural beauty, it is easy to see why.  Uganda is a blessed land, but it also a broken one.  Colonialism, war, AIDS and poverty have taken their tole on the small East African nation.  The population of Uganda is now predominantly made up of children.  Over three million of those children are total orphans.

Motivated by the grace and compassion of Jesus Christ, Pearl Ministries works alongside Ugandans to address the crisis facing Uganda’s orphans and vulnerable children.  We sponsor programs of physical care, spiritual nurturing, education and vocational training.  (Read more about our plan.)

We ultimately believe that the most effective way to care for these children is by impacting and transforming their communities.  Our heart is for the nation of Uganda.  We want the children of Uganda to inherit a healthy, hopeful future.  This desire is constantly leading us toward efforts that give present relief to the children of Uganda, but also those that enrich their communities for a stronger tomorrow.
